AdSense Spammers #33 through #44

Below is a dozen AdSense spammers busy scamming money from advertisers by creating boat load of useless splogs. Every one of these splogs contain AdSense ads directly on them.

UPDATE (5/23/2006 11:50pm) - Someone has contacted me regarding one false positive in #44. What happened was sometime between May 9th and now, the splog was deleted and was replaced with a legitimate blog. It appears Google did delete some but this spammer has managed to create alot more splogs in the meantime. I've refreshed my database of splogs and the new list is below:

Here is yet another AdSense spammer that created 1885 splogs which are nothing but link farm pointing to his made for AdSense website. His AdSense id is pub-5033534681835527.

AdSense Spammer #31

Here is a typical AdSense spammer who created 8165 splogs all pointing to his website with an AdSense ad. Every one of his blogs aren't really blog at all but rather a static page with a link and an email address. His AdSense id is pub-9004570362789198.

AdSense Spammer #7 and #10 Revisited

It turns out tactics and methods used by both of these two past AdSense spammers are so similar, they are indistinguishable and therefore my only conclusion is that they have to be the same person or at least working together on their spamming efforts. I've also noticed that there are some crossovers in the target website and AdSense ids from the two groups. I will merge the two list into one as result. Although he mainly uses one AdSense id pub-8886102306252551, he also uses pub-9284117370015193 as well as pub-5377259689954952 in his 9976 domains. This spammer created nearly 10,000 made for AdSense websites each with thousands of pages and also created over 130,000 splogs on blogspot.com. There are currently 134,898 splogs in my database with his unique fingerprint on them but I know I didn't catch all of his splogs. My script will needs more tweaking to extract rest of his splogs from my database and that will take some time.

UPDATE (5/10/2006 5:25am) - To Google's credit, they deleted quite a number of splogs since I started accumulating this spammer's splogs. I've removed most of deleted splogs from the above list and the new filtered list is posted below.

AdSense Spammers #1 through #13 Revisited

I went through what happened with some of the old AdSense spammers I've reported here starting from the beginning. It turns out #7 and #10 are special cases known as "Big Fish" and "Bigger Fish" respective and needs to be looked at separately. Here are all other AdSense funded spammers and where they stand. It turns out only few of the AdSense accounts are really no longer active.

I also found something rather strange going on with AdSense ads on some of the reported splogs. When looking at AdSense spammers #20 through #25, the AdSense ads on them have stopped showing up on them which leads me to think spammer's AdSense account is dead. Well, so I thought but it turns out it isn't so. Here is one of the splog from AdSense spammer #25. As you can see the AdSense ads no longer appears. However, when I go to one of the site like this, AdSense ad is still there. What is going on here? It appears Google has selectively disabled AdSense ads on blogspot.com domain but didn't really do anything about the account itself. Why is Google doing this? Why is Google bending over backwards in effort to have a business relationship with these spammers?

Here is another AdSense spammer but this one is especially lazy. This guy didn't even bother to even cut and paste some bogus nonsensical text. Check out these beauties with absolutely no content other than the title of a blog. I'm surprised AdSense even attempts to show relavent ads on these splogs. How can there be a contextual ad if there is no content to speak of? He created 1354 splogs more or less like these:

AdSense Spammer #20

I've been quite busy lately with reorganizing my database to be more flexible and that's been taking up most of my time for the past week. I've somehow managed to resurrect most of my dead brain cells that contained all stale knowledge from Oracle days and I will be using them to have some fun with MySQL. Anyway I see that I have about a dozen or so new AdSense spammers queued up and ready to go. Here is a spammer who created 2600 splogs like this. One would think creating 2600 pages with a block of cut and paste text with AdSense ad would be a violation of AdSense policy but with Google spotty policy enforcement you never know what will happen. Anyway we'll see.

I've also decided to post full list from now on. No more of this first 1000 of bizillion splogs because I don't have the time nor the energy to keep track. I am also going through all past nineteen AdSense spammers to see what really happened to their AdSense accounts.

Current Status

It appears Google has decided to delete some splogs I've posted here. Although that itself isn't a bad thing, they are still very hesitant to do anything about the AdSense account of the spammers who created these splogs. I simply disagree with the method of how Google is addressing the problem. They are essentially driving over a weed with a lawn mower rather than pulling them by the roots. Spammers will simply recreate the deleted splogs and the cycle repeats.

So far I have accumulated more than 2.1 million blogs in my archive database. I have identified about 960 thousand blogs as splogs. The actual number of splogs are in fact much higher since I'm currently using a very conservative method to identify splogs. That means at least half of all new blogs created in the last five month are splogs. Of the 2.1 million blogs about 180 thousand blogs have AdSense ads on them. Of the 180 thousand blogs with AdSense ads, 41 thousands of them are splogs which is about 23%. That means about one out of four AdSense ads on blogspot blogs there to fund spammers. This percentage has jumped from 16% to 23% just in the last month. A month before that, the numbers were in the low tens.

UPDATE (4/10/2006 2:22pm) - It appears Google is indeed deleting splogs. I'm going to start publishing large groups of splogs and see if Google will delete them in bulk or at least mark them as splogs.
